Babar & Ferdinand

A concert-show that links Music, Magic and Words

Babar the little elephant and Ferdinand the little bull are two famous tales that have brightened the lives of generations of children. The first was a global success, translated into 27 languages, and the second inspired Walt Disney to make the animated cartoon Ferdinand the Bull. Two stories that composers Poulenc and Ridout chose to put into music, using the piano or the violin to sing and recount the adventures of our two heroes. By progressing from child to adult and from animal to man, Babar and Ferdinand illustrate classic rites of passage with which children can readily identify. Two stories of animals facing the world of mankind and trying to find their place…or not!
